Water-Saving Shower Heads and other Green Technologies

solarwaterheaterThere are a lot of luxurious looking shower heads that can easily be installed in place of the old dripping one you have in your bathroom that saves water by aerating the water saving you by as much as fifty percent of your water consumption. Add a solar heater to your plumbing system and you can add more green value to your home allowing warm or even scalding hot water when needed. These solar heating systems functions in the same way as traditional water heating systems with the difference of not using electricity or gas to heat the water, but instead using the sun’s free energy. Water is pumped into special plastic or metal channels in a solar collector on the roof, which has temperature monitoring electronics that senses if the water has achieved a pre-set temperature, opening a valve to an insulated water tank, hot water ready for use. You can still have a traditional heater for those cold winter days and the heat level may vary according to your location on the globe.
Solar heating is free and non-polluting requiring little electricity to run the pumps and sensors that keeps the system topped up. Not enough heat from the sun, then get some solar panels to power your heaters, though that may not always be possible being high-drain appliances, they can tax heavy on your solar power system. More power can be derived in certain areas from wind power generation systems which functions in the same way as a solar system replacing the solar panels with a wind turbine. They are both free and non-carbon emitting for green and helpful to the environment.
